The Pearls of Umhlanga boasts stunning ocean views, world-class amenities, and exceptional service. With a range of apartments and suites, it’s perfect for discerning travelers and residents alike.

During my visit, I was impressed by the hotel’s attention to detail and warm hospitality.

My oceanview apartment was spacious, modern, and beautifully decorated. The amenities, including the pool, gym, and spa, were top-notch.

I enjoyed the hotel’s convenient location, just a short walk from Umhlanga’s beautiful beaches and promenade.

Facilities of The Pearls of Umhlanga – Ocean view Apartments

Views: Most apartments have sea views of Umhlanga Main Beach and lighthouse. Higher floors see all the way to Durban. Some units face inland toward Gateway.

Pools: 3 outdoor pools. Main pool on podium level with sea views. Heated infinity pool on 21st floor for residents only. Kiddie pool next to main pool. All pools open 6am to 8pm. Loungers and umbrellas free.

Outdoors for kids: Kiddie pool area with shallow section. Grass area on podium level for running. No playground. 3min walk to Umhlanga Main Beach with lifeguards and rock pools. 5min walk to Umhlanga Promenade for prams and bikes.

Spa: No spa inside Pearls. Closest is Camelot Spa at The Oyster Box, 4min walk. In-room massage can be arranged through some hosts.

Fitness: Gym on podium level for residents and guests. Open 24hrs with key card. Treadmills, weights, bikes. Towels provided. No trainer on site.

Facilities for disabled guests: Ramps from street to lobby. 2 lifts service all floors. Basement parking has disabled bays near lifts. Some apartments are wheelchair friendly but you must confirm with host. Main pool has no hoist.

Restaurant: No restaurant inside Pearls apartments. Pearls Mall downstairs has RocoMamas, Mugg & Bean, John Dory’s, Mythos. All 1min walk via internal lift. Room service available from some restaurants.

Free WiFi: Not free building-wide. Depends on your host. Most apartments include uncapped fibre WiFi. Ask before booking. Load shedding backup keeps WiFi on.

Free Parking: No free parking. Basement parking is R25 per day. Some units include one bay free. Confirm with host. Street parking free but not secure.

Bar: No bar inside Pearls. Pearls Mall has bars at Mythos and Firebird. Havana Grill 3min walk. All close by 11pm.

Private beach area: No private beach. Pearls has a private access gate to Umhlanga Main Beach, 180m walk. Gate uses key card. Public beach but gate saves 5min vs main entrance. Lifeguards on duty 9am to 5pm.
